Karma Theory

Do we need to believe in Karma? At the end of the day for those who are believers - responsible for the present state of affairs. Does that mean whomsoever I may be associated with - is also due to my past actions? But what are these so-called "past actions"? What is the basis upon which we strongly believe in the law of Karma? Do you remember your past? They say one does not need to believe past lives - all one needs to see is how he or she behaves in this birth - wherein - he or she is able to conduct himself / herself with undue responsibility / with nobility, et al! What I firmly believe is even though I do not remember who I was or what I did in the past - I truly believe what I do today will be the basis of what will happen tomorrow. How I make my present is most important than what I did or how I did it in the past. The past is over. Gone . Closed. Period! But today is in my hands. I can make or mar it.

Enough I guess to chew on - share the cud when possible!! (hehe - hopefully not too gross - truly no such intentions!)

Responsible Citizens

In the wake of being an ideal citizen of our country, are we conducting ourselves to the best of our ability? I wonder about these few things I witness at times when on the road -
  • We throw wrappers/papers/cigarette stubs on the road while seated in the car. Ponder!!
  • We are also considered not to spit around - but how many of us practice that - for instance this morning after dropping my husband at a convinient spot to be picked up by his colleague from work, I saw this young lady who seemed well dressed and I am hpeful she is educated; so she crossed the road and while doing so conviniently spat!! My immediate reaction was "AAAggggghhhh". Reflect!!
  • Visiting public toilets and not throwing enough water because usually there is water available but none of us have the time to check if we can throw some. I do not wish to talk about the flush because many times our public bathrooms unfortunately aren't equipped with a good flushing system. Correct??
  • Car parking - it is makes one go bizarre. Usually we take the other person's spot even without realizing it will cause trouble to them. (May be restricted to few cities in this case) - Kya bolta/bolti tu?

I could think of these prime issues which I go through day in and day out...Well there is a lot that you and me can add to this list - but I guess let us all try start off on these first before we move on to Level two!!
